A life of reaction is a life of slavery, intellectually and spiritually. One must fight for a life of action, not reaction.
“The heart of God yearns over His earthly children with a love stronger than death. In giving up His Son, He has poured out to us all heaven in one gift. The Saviour’s life and death and intercession, the ministry of angels, the pleading of the Spirit, the Father working above and through all, the unceasing interest of heavenly beings,—all are enlisted in behalf of man’s redemption.” – Ellen White, Steps to Christ 21.2
Wow! What a wonderful reminder! Our Heavenly Father delights in giving us His countless blessings each day. Heaven is His Costco and we get to have individual gold memberships! Not through our loved ones and friends, but through His Son, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ! How about that?! And it gets even better! Each day it brings Dad joy to forgive us and supply our needs…in bulk. Not paid for at the cashier with American Express, Visa or MasterCard…but with the life of Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary. With His death He paid the price of our sins. Let us make each day of our lives a paragraph in our lifelong “Thank You” card to our Heavenly Supplier and Giver.
Happy Tuesday, beautiful world! Smile! ☺
If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.
Satan does not venture to show himself openly, lest he arouse the Christian’s dormant energies, and send him to God in prayer.
Couldn’t help but reblog this photo from enchantedengland's blog. This is Edensor (pronounced En-sor) which is in Derbyshire, England. I’d love to visit a place like this someday. Isn’t it just beautiful? I could take early morning and late afternoon strolls up and down those hills…and end all the fun by having evening picnics on a blanket while gazing up at the starlit sky.
Mmmm…it’s good to be back on my reverie! Happy (belated) New Year, everyone! :)
While preaching a series of meetings, Carol’s translator fell sick and died. After praying, the Pastor miraculously came back to life. God honors prayers said in faith. Go to Answered.TV for more videos of answered prayers.
On Orchids, Ice Cubes and Patient Witnessing
Meet my beautiful Hawaiian orchid plant! It is tall with gorgeous flowers that go so well with my pinkish lavender-colored room. It was a just-because-I-love-you present from my amazing and thoughtful Mom. Ahhh, yes! I am quite fond of the love language of orchids (all all sorts of flowers)! Yes, I do believe it is a love language! It is my Mom’s! :)
If you’ve ever taken care of orchids then you know it is best to water these beauties with ice, which allows the water to release in a slow drip as the ice melts. A long time ago I was watering an orchid and poured water like I usually do with my other plants, and quickly learned it wasn’t the best way to water an orchid. Mmm-mmm. As I was wiping the water off the floor I thought, “Note to self: orchids are not fond of drowning.” Lesson learned.
Perfect music for Georgia’s fourth rainy day in a row.
The beautiful love story of Sarah and Marius. Two young people tired of the dating game. Finally they both trusted God to lead their hearts. Go to Answered.TV for more videos of miracles and answered prayers.
It is not doing the thing which we like to do, but liking to do the thing which we have to do, that makes life blessed.
Prayer makes the best “Good morning” and the best “Goodnight”! This morning I’m thankful for the refreshing privilege of coming to our Heavenly Father in prayer at any time of every and any day and just say, “Good morning/afternoon/evening, Dad! Soooo wonderful to spend time with You today!” :)
One never knows a man till he has refused him something, and studied the effect of the refusal; one never knows himself till he has denied himself. The altar of sacrifice is the touchstone of character. The cross compels a choice for or against Christ.
