Wow! What a wonderful reminder! Our Heavenly Father delights in giving us His countless blessings each day. Heaven is His Costco and we get to have individual gold memberships! Not through our loved ones and friends, but through His Son, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ! How about that?! And it gets even better! Each day it brings Dad joy to forgive us and supply our needs…in bulk. Not paid for at the cashier with American Express, Visa or MasterCard…but with the life of Jesus Christ on Mount Calvary. With His death He paid the price of our sins. Let us make each day of our lives a paragraph in our lifelong “Thank You” card to our Heavenly Supplier and Giver.

Couldn’t help but reblog this photo from enchantedengland’s blog. This is Edensor (pronounced En-sor) which is in Derbyshire, England. I’d love to visit a place like this someday. Isn’t it just beautiful? I could take early morning and late afternoon strolls up and down those hills…and end all the fun by having evening picnics on a blanket while gazing up at the starlit sky.

Mmmm…it’s good to be back on my reverie! Happy (belated) New Year, everyone! :)

On Orchids, Ice Cubes and Patient Witnessing

Meet my beautiful Hawaiian orchid plant! It is tall with gorgeous flowers that go so well with my pinkish lavender-colored room. It was a just-because-I-love-you present from my amazing and thoughtful Mom. Ahhh, yes! I am quite fond of the love language of orchids (all all sorts of flowers)! Yes, I do believe it is a love language! It is my Mom’s! :)

If you’ve ever taken care of orchids then you know it is best to water these beauties with ice, which allows the water to release in a slow drip as the ice melts. A long time ago I was watering an orchid and poured water like I usually do with my other plants, and quickly learned it wasn’t the best way to water an orchid. Mmm-mmm. As I was wiping the water off the floor I thought, “Note to self: orchids are not fond of drowning.” Lesson learned.

When a copious amount of water is poured on an orchid plant all at once, the plant is not able to take in the right amount of water it needs to thrive. The water drips out of the vase before the roots are able to absorb it. This experience led me to reflect on the importance patience plays in our day-to-day witnessing with those who are thirsting and yearning for Christ…especially those that don’t even know it. The point is to quench their spiritual thirst - not drown it.

As we lead others to the thirst-quenching Living Water let us pray for wisdom, discernment, and patient and prayerful perseverance. Let us also remember that all the glory belongs to the Lord.
