One of my very first two bonsai trees that I bought today at Full Moon Bonsai Nursery. This one is two years old (they take time to grow) and I plan on making sure it lives longer than me. Might pass it down to my kid(s) someday (if I ever have any). Haven’t decided what to name this yet. Love my new hobby! More pictures (from my bonsai nursery) visit to follow! (Taken with Instagram)
Today my mental vacation involves this picture as my view. I am walking barefoot near the bottom of a hill in the countryside. In my right hand, I hold the handle of a wicker flower basket filled with lavenders and wild flowers freshly picked from the open field past the two big once-snowy-white-with-blossoms-but-now-green-with-leaves dogwood trees. The trees seem to be the hill’s landmark posts; one tree stands to the left side of the path, and the other to the right. As I continue walking barefoot on the hill, the fingers of my left hand freely graze the flowers and plants you see in the picture. The sun is beaming as if to say, “Good day, madam! Pleasure to be a part of this pleasant day with you! What beautiful flowers you have on that basket!”
With my eyes closed, I slowly inhale and take in the refreshing coolness of the breeze. Eyes now opened, my heart skips a beat as I leap for joy. My soul is glad. My mind’s eye captures this must-not-be-forgotten scenery and stores it in my memory, promising to revisit and relive it on another day.
I look up. My heart is tickled by God’s artistry as I see in the sky’s light blue canvass a display of impressionist art, art and beauty worlds and skies better than any Monet could have ever created with the strokes of his paintbrush. Hmmmm. I smile as I breathe out a sigh of glee, satisfaction and awe. The strokes of the Creator’s words created alllll this. He spoke…and beauty existed. That is the power of the great Artist.
I whisper a prayer with my eyes gazing at heaven. “Lord, thank you for giving me a free exhibit daily. The world is my museum, and there is always, always, always much to learn from, see, enjoy and appreciate! Thank You from the ventricles (literally the ‘bottom’) of my heart. Thank You for the world. Thank You for today. Thank You for You!”
A Christmas song I wrote last year. Blessings!
Pictures taken during a short drive around my neighborhood. Don’t you just love autumn and all the colors it brings? :)
